5 Tips for Creating Perfect Portfolio

Probably everyone knows that the internet is full of thousands of design portfolios, and getting a potential employer’s attention in this overcrowded job marketplace can be quite a challenge.
Our designers team wants to help and share their valuable experience with you.

Your portfolio plays a vital role in building your career and helps you find the best possible opportunities for yourself. Whether you’re creating a graphic design portfolio or web design portfolio, similar principles apply, which we’ll cover in this article.

So, let’s start!

1.Write about yourself

Some people skip this point. Guys, remember that a customer or employer is also a person. Who can pay attention to your unique features. Tell us about your specialization, what tasks you are a professional in—your strengths and advantages.
Take an example: You have 5 years of experience in the Fitness industry, and you know all the work nuances. Make original and appropriate designs. It is your advantage. It would be best if you didn’t miss it.

2.Identify the best work samples to share

When it comes to choosing projects for your portfolio, quality always trumps quantity. A portfolio isn’t supposed to be a digital repository for every.psd file on your laptop. It’s a public showcase of your very best works.

Limit yourself to 5-7 jobs in the last 2-3 years. The client will not look anymore anyway, and the old trends are gone and are no longer relevant. You don’t want to seem outdated.

3.Convince your audience

Always keep the target audience in mind. Keep a balance between aesthetics and essential information you need to show to your potential clients.
If you want to work with a large business, then write everything strictly, write clearly. If this is a work of creative guys, make a bright website, add emoji, and write simple words.

4.Add contact information and a call to action

Beautiful cases are significant. But what’s the point if the potential customer does not know what to do next. Provide several options for how to contact you so that the customer chooses a convenient one.

5.Promote your work

Though technically not a step in creating your online portfolio, promoting your work is key to maximizing the value of your efforts in Steps 1 through 4. A portfolio won’t help you if nobody looks at it!

Where to publish your work:

– Behance and Dribbble: It’s a way to network with other creatives and the people who hire them. See how we do Dribbble Shots.

– DeviantArt: One of the web’s oldest design communities, DeviantArt, boasts more than 32 million registered members.
– Canva: А massive number of templates make a portfolio presentation for an SMM, creator, photographer, brand manager, designer, and other creative people.

Hopefully, these five tips help you create a perfect portfolio. Remember that the sooner you start thinking of your portfolio as a tool, the sooner it will deliver you new clients or your dream job!
