4 Effective Methods of Time Management: Advice From Our Team

Surely we’ve all experienced the woes of time management at work. Do you often stay at work until night and don’t have enough time for all tasks? Does your pet still recognize you? We have the bad news – you don’t know how to plan your time correctly.

Please don’t rush to get upset. Today we will tell you and show several effective time management methods that our team tested and was convinced of their effectiveness.

But first of all, let’s find out what time management is. And why it is so important.

Time management is the practice of allocating your time to tasks productively and efficiently.

Practicing time management in the workplace is crucial because it can help you meet deadlines and be more productive. Time management can also improve your mental health and remind your pet how you look.

With that in mind, let’s dive into techniques.

1. Pomodoro technique is suitable for beginners.

The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks.

For example:
1. Work — 25 min.
Instagram — 5 min.

2. Work — 25 min.
Linkedin — 5 min.

3. Work — 25 min.
Coffee — 5 min.

4. Work — 25 min.
Lunch — 30 min.

2. Kanban board method
For guys who start many projects but no one completes.

A Kanban board is a tool for workflow visualization. Divide all projects into three categories: “to do,” “in progress,” “done.”
The simplest Kanban boards are physical boards divided into vertical columns.
See the example:

3. Eat The Frog method
According to Eat The Frog, it’s necessary to plan every day in advance and always work from a list. You’ll start macro with a master list and then break it down into more granular monthly lists, weekly lists, and daily lists.

Eat The Frog is perfect for anyone who:

–  Struggles with procrastination
–  Gets a lot done but isn’t making progress on the important stuff
–  Has a hard time sticking to a productivity system
–  Has trouble deciding what to work on at any given time
–  Feels overwhelmed by their to-do list

And the last method is the Eisenhower Matrix.
The Eisenhower Matrix, also referred to as Urgent-Important Matrix, helps you decide on and prioritize tasks by urgency and importance, sorting out less urgent and important tasks which you should either delegate or not do at all.

It is a simple technique that helps you assess the importance of tasks on a scale. Take a piece of paper, draw two axes. Horizontal – the level of urgency, on the left – urgent matters, on the right – less critical. Vertical – from least to more critical.

Now you know 4 effective methods of time management. But remember that it’s such an individual thing. Winston Churchill liked to work late into the night. Toni Morrison started writing before dawn.
As for our team, our lead designer uses the Eisenhower Matrix method. It allows him to use working time effectively and not forget to feed the fish at home.

What about you? Which method do you prefer?

The main rule is to focus on the important stuff and not try to do everything at the last moment.
